Grading and assessment are essential to effective teaching, learning, and communication, yet teachers often lack the resources to use them effectively. The aim of this site is to provide educators with a first-hand account of grading, assessment, and feedback implementation, along with resources to aid in implementation, to improve their practice and ultimately increase student learning.
Josh Kunnath is a high school English teacher and instructional coach at Highland High School in Bakersfield, California, where he has taught since 2008. As a practitioner-researcher, he specializes in teacher grading and assessment practices. In addition to publishing multiple articles on these topics, he continues to apply his ideas in the classroom and to collaborate with educators across the country to improve teacher practice and student learning.
Josh has served as editor of theJournal of School Administration Research and Development since 2017. He is also a partner consultant with The Core Collaborative, where he works with educators to improve grading and assessment. Josh received his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fresno, in 2016.
